National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Resource Guide 2013 (December 2012) OVC, 130 pages, NCJ 239229.
This guide is designed to help communities and victim assistance providers promote awareness of crime victim issues, the Guide includes educational content, campaign materials, artwork, and a theme DVD. New this year are three pre-produced 30-second PSAs addressing child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder financial fraud.

Part of the NCVRW Resource Guide, this DVD includes a 5-minute feature video —New Challenges. New Solutions. —and three 30-second television public service announcements (PSAs) that address the topics of child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder abuse. OVC encourages organizations to use the introductory theme DVD throughout the year at public awareness, education, and training events in local communities to promote and advance the cause of justice for victims of crime.

What You Can Do If You Are A Victim of Crime (2010) OVC, BC 000767.
This OVC brochure explains the rights of victims of crime and the compensation and assistance resources available to them. It also lists national organizations that help victims find information or obtain referrals.

Victim Impact: Listen and Learn Curriculum (February 2009) OVC, 286 pages, NCJ 224257.
This OVC-funded curriculum is geared toward helping offenders to become aware of the impact that crime has on victims and then to take responsibility and make amends for their actions. The online-only curriculum consists of 13 units, built around 10 core crime topics: property crime, assault, robbery, hate and bias, gang violence, sexual assault, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, drunk and impaired driving, and homicide, plus chapters on implementing the program, the victim experience and making amends to victims. Victims and survivors speak about their experiences in the accompanying video clips.

Hate Crime Victimization, 2003-2011 (March 2013) BJS, Report, BJS Special Reports, NCJ 241291.
This report presents annual counts and rates of hate crime victimization that occurred from 2003 through 2011, using data from the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS). The report examines changes over time in hate crime victimizations, including the type of bias that motivated the hate crime, the type of crime, whether the incident was reported to police, and characteristics of the incident, offender, and victim.

Promising Practices Against Hate Crimes: Five State and Local Demonstration Projects (May 2000) BJA, 28 pages, NCJ 181425.
The five demonstration programs described in this BJA monograph are among our Nation's most promising models for confronting and reducing hate crime. One program provides training to law enforcement professionals; another addresses the needs of hate crime victims; and three focus on bias among youths, with an emphasis on removing hate from public schools.

LAMBDA GLBT Community Services
LAMBDA is dedicated to protecting gays and lesbians from discrimination and violence in homes, businesses, and schools through educational campaigns, nondiscrimination leadership, and antiviolence efforts.
 
National Coalition of Anti-Violence Programs (NCAVP)
NCAVP addresses the pervasive problem of violence committed against and within the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and HIV-affected communities.
 
Not In Our Town
The Not In Our Town Campaign promotes public dialog and provides a model for community response to hate crimes and other associated problems. The campaign presents broadly accessible, positive solutions through broadcast, national networking, grassroots events, educational outreach, and online activities.
 
Southern Poverty Law Center
The Center provides legal services in hate crimes, civil rights, and class action cases and works to educate the public through films and publications. Its Klanwatch monitors white supremacist groups and hate crimes in the United States.
