National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Resource Guide 2013 (December 2012) OVC, 130 pages, NCJ 239229.
This guide is designed to help communities and victim assistance providers promote awareness of crime victim issues, the Guide includes educational content, campaign materials, artwork, and a theme DVD. New this year are three pre-produced 30-second PSAs addressing child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder financial fraud.

National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Theme DVD 2013 (December 2012) OVC, 0 pages, NCJ 240784.
Part of the NCVRW Resource Guide, this DVD includes a 5-minute feature video —New Challenges. New Solutions. —and three 30-second television public service announcements (PSAs) that address the topics of child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder abuse. OVC encourages organizations to use the introductory theme DVD throughout the year at public awareness, education, and training events in local communities to promote and advance the cause of justice for victims of crime.

Violence is Preventable: A Best Practices Guide for Launching & Sustaining a Hospital-based Program to Break the Cycle of Violence (2011) OVC-Sponsored, Grant, 163 pages, NCJ 238801.
This OVC-funded replication guide, available from National Network of Hospital-based Violence Intervention Programs, supports the development of programs in medical facilities across the country to engage patients in targeted services during their recovery to interrupt the cycle of violence.

Randomized Trial of Healthy Families New York (HFNY): Does Home Visiting Prevent Child Maltreatment? (January 2011) NIJ-Sponsored, Grant, 156 pages, NCJ 232945.
This study evaluated the effectiveness of a state-administered home visitation program based on the Healthy Families America model, Health Families New York, in the prevention of child maltreatment and risk of delinquency.

Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in New York City, Volume Two: Formative Evaluation: The New York City Demonstration (September 2008) NIJ-Sponsored, Grant, 107 pages, NCJ 225084.
This report presents the methodology and findings of a formative, participatory evaluation of New York City's demonstration project of the Coalition to Address the Sexual Exploitation of Children (CASEC), which focused on child prostitution in the city.

Portable Guides to Investigating Child Abuse (May 2007) OJJDP, OJJDP Portable Guides to Investigating Child Abuse, LT000527.
Presents an overview of the 13 titles currently in OJJDP's Portable Guides Series, which provides practical information on investigating child abuse and neglect. Designed primarily for quick, on-the-job reference by police officers and detectives, the guides are also useful for social workers, physicians, nurses, emergency medical technicians, firefighters, psychologists, attorneys, judges-anyone on the frontlines of reporting, investigating, and prosecuting crimes against children. FY 2013 Bridging the Gap in Victim-Related Research to Practice (PDF 452 kb)
Deadline: 06/10/2013
One cooperative agreement of $750,000 will be awarded to conduct a comprehensive assessment of victim service providers to ascertain their level of awareness and knowledge about the benefits of social science research and program evaluation for their work with victims of crime; paired with an assessment of researchers' interest in, and capacity for, translating their work for a practitioner audience. The results of this project will inform future plans to support improved communication and collaboration between researchers and practitioners. Those applying are urged to begin in advance of the June 10, 2013, deadline.
