The Council's Web site offers information and links to assist victims, and witnesses to crimes on military installations. A crime victim may file a complaint against any employee of the U.S. Department of Justice who violates or fails to provide the rights established under the Crime Victims' Rights Act of 2004, 18 U.S.C. NamUs, is the first national online repository for missing persons and unidentified dead cases. National Sex Offender Public Web Site
This online, searchable database of sex offenders is the result of a cooperative effort between the state agencies hosting public sexual offender registries and the Federal Government. The Federal site centralizes the different sex offender registries built and maintained by State and territories and provides real-time access to public sex offender data nationwide with a single Internet search. This Web site allows parents and concerned citizens to search existing public state and territory sex offender registries beyond their own communities.

Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVCTTAC)
OVC TTAC provides comprehensive, quality technical assistance and training resources to victim service providers and allied professionals. Office of Indian Alcohol and Substance Abuse
This office was created to coordinate alcohol and substance abuse efforts among the American Indian and Alaskan Native communities and federal agencies as called for by the Tribal Law and Order Act. This office will work, in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and the Department of Justice, on determining the scope of the ongoing problem -- identifying and assessing national, state, tribal, and local alcohol and substance abuse programs and resources; and creating standards for programs.

September 11th Victim Compensation Fund
The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) has been reinstated and will provide compensation for any individual (or a personal representative of a deceased individual) who suffered physical harm or was killed as a result of the terrorist-related aircraft crashes of September 11, 2001, or the debris removal efforts that took place in the immediate aftermath of those crashes. On January 2, 2011, President Obama signed into law the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-347) which expands the pool of applicants eligible for the Fund to include individuals who experienced injuries associated with the attacks or subsequent debris removal.

U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ): Victim Notification System (VNS)
VNS is a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the United States Attorneys' offices, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Launched in 2001 as a pilot program with funding support from OVC, it became fully operational in 2002 under the development and oversight of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. This free, computer-based system provides important information to victims of federal crimes. In many cases crime victims will receive letters generated through VNS containing information about the events pertaining to the criminal case and/or any defendants in the case.

The State Department is committed to assisting American citizens who become victims of crime while abroad and can help victims in two ways. The National Crime Victim Law Institute (NCVLI) actively promotes balance and fairness in the justice system through crime victim centered legal advocacy, education, and resource sharing. With funding from OVC, NCVLI supports pro bono legal clinics in eleven states. These clinics provide free legal counsel and support services to victims in state and federal criminal proceedings and, in some cases, tribal and juvenile courts. NCVLI provides intensive technical assistance, training, and support to the twelve clinics. NCVLI educates and conducts trainings on the enforcement of victims’ rights to criminal justice professionals around the country, as do some of the clinics in the respective jurisdictions they cover.

This online, searchable database of sex offenders is the result of a cooperative effort between the state agencies hosting public sexual offender registries and the Federal Government. September 11th Victim Compensation Fund
The September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) has been reinstated and will provide compensation for any individual (or a personal representative of a deceased individual) who suffered physical harm or was killed as a result of the terrorist-related aircraft crashes of September 11, 2001, or the debris removal efforts that took place in the immediate aftermath of those crashes. On January 2, 2011, President Obama signed into law the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 (P.L. 111-347) which expands the pool of applicants eligible for the Fund to include individuals who experienced injuries associated with the attacks or subsequent debris removal.

VNS is a cooperative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the United States Postal Inspection Service, the United States Attorneys' offices, and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. Launched in 2001 as a pilot program with funding support from OVC, it became fully operational in 2002 under the development and oversight of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys. This free, computer-based system provides important information to victims of federal crimes. The Prejudice Institute provides education and training through publications and a speakers' bureau to address prejudice and intergroup conflict as manifested in discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and violence, especially with regard to the effects of victimization.

The Tribal Justice and Safety Web site, is a new Department of Justice resource for American Indian and Alaska Native tribal governments and communities. The goal of this resource is to provide a user-friendly, current, and comprehensive site for American Indian and Alaska Native Tribal governments to further improve the safety of their communities. It also provides information to the general public and other federal agencies to better understand the resources available for improving safety in Native American communities.

USCCB also administers funding to organizations to provide case management and other services to adult victims of trafficking.
