In recognition of National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Johnson County's 4th Annual Art Exhibit at VALA Gallery will feature original art created by crime victims/survivors, advocates and community support personnel as a way of raising awareness around victimization issues, and to help local citizens gain a deeper understanding of the impact crime has on the entire community. The event is open to the general public, and is an ongoing success thanks to our partners VALA Gallery and local domestic violence shelter SAFEHOME. Past attendees have included crime victims/survivors, artists, justice system personnel, students, area resource agency personnel and anyone interested in bearing witness to the resilience of victims as they work toward surviving through the incredible healing power of art.
