On April 29, 2014, OVC will provide one consultant to deliver a 2-hour workshop titled "Working with Survivors of Homicide" at the Nebraska Coalition for Victims of Crime 10th Annual Crime Victims' Rights Week Conference in Omaha, Nebraska. This advocacy training for professionals working with survivors of homicide focuses on the emotional and psychological responses to homicide they may encounter; delivery of compassionate death notifications; and their short- and long-term roles with homicide survivors. Approximately 125 corrections personnel, court personnel, educators, emergency service providers, faith-based service providers, health care providers, law enforcement personnel, probation personnel, prosecutors, victim advocates, and volunteers are expected to attend.
