|On November 15, 2013, one OVC consultant will deliver two workshops and a one-on-one consultation session at the West Virginia Children's Justice Conference in Charleston, West Virginia sponsored by West Virginia Prosecuting Attorneys Institute. The 90-minute workshop, "Courthouse Dogs - Improving the Investigation of Crimes Against Children, "will focus on the benefits of using courthouse dogs in investigating cases involving children. The 90-minute workshop, "Courthouse Dogs - Improving the Prosecution of Crimes Against Children," will focus on the benefits of using courthouse dogs in prosecuting cases involving children. Approximately 75 participants will attend each workshop, including administrators, corrections personnel, court personnel, educators, emergency service providers, faith-based service providers, health care providers, judges, law enforcement personnel, mental health providers, probation personnel, prosecutors, victim advocates, and volunteers. The one-on-one consultation session (90 minutes) will be open to prosecutors and other conference participants who are interested in starting a program at their courthouse.
