|As part of the Legal Assistance for Crime Victims: An OVC Capacity Building Initiative, OVC TTAC and the National Crime Victim Law Institute are working collaboratively to expand the availability of pro bono and no-cost legal assistance for victims of crime nationally. Part of that collaboration includes developing and delivering a series of webinar trainings.
This training will provide an overview of what rights exist for victims in the military, focusing on standing, how to assert rights, and the latest appellate practice. The webinar will also provide an overview of the Air Force’s Special Victim Counsel program, which was the first program in the military to provide counsel to sexual assault victims. The targeted audience for this webinar includes military counsel and civilian attorneys working with crime victims.
