|On September 30 and October 1, 2013 one OVC consultant will deliver a two-day training requested by the Virgin Islands Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Council. The VI Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Council (DVSAC) will schedule two 8-hour Trauma-Informed Services Workshops. The workshop will be divided into two days with two specific groups. The first day's training will be an overview of Trauma-Informed Care Standards and Services. It will be provided to all victim services providers' agency staff, civil and criminal justice professionals, agency board members, and DVSAC staff and council members. The second day will be a more in-depth session for only those who provide direct victim services. It will focus on implementing trauma-informed approaches to service delivery. The participants for the second day session must have attended the first day. Territorial victim service provider personnel will meet their counterparts and train together for the first time. Participants will attend from all three islands. Approximately 50 administrators, court personnel, emergency service providers, faith-based service providers, health care providers, law enforcement personnel, mental health providers, probation personnel, prosecutors, victim advocates, and volunteers are expected to attend.
