|During the past year, a multitude of national disasters swept across the United States, from the man-made destruction caused by the Marathon bombings, the Sandy Hook shootings, and the Texas explosion, to thenatural devastations of severe storms, flooding, Oklahoma tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, and the still ongoing Colorado fires.
Unfortunately, in the wake of and even during these events, scammers and identity thieves are plying their trades, seizing on an opportunity to victimize Americans going through an already horrific time in their lives as well as scam those who try to offer aid.
What can we as professionals do to help prevent the crime and assist the victims in recovery from disaster related fraud and identity theft? The National Identity Theft Victims' Assistance Network invites you to learn from experts at "Disaster Related Identity Theft Victimization and Fraud," a free webinar on July 15, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm ET.
