OVC is sponsoring three consultants to deliver eight training workshops requested by the Office of the Attorney General for the United States Virgin Islands, in support of a "Human/Sex Trafficking in the United States Virgin Islands" training conference. This conference will equip attendees with knowledge and skills spanning from an introduction to the crime of human trafficking, to ways to sensitively and effectively provide victim-centered assistance to victims, successfully investigate human trafficking, and strengthen the community's capacity to combat the crime. Approximately 60 local victim service providers, state and federal law enforcement officers, and first responders, as well as participants from the neighboring island of St. Croix, are expected to attend each workshop.
