OVC is sponsoring one consultant to deliver a 6.5-hour training requested by the Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault (MOCSA). The training, "Therapists in the Courtroom: Understanding Documentation and Testifying in Court," will focus on how to properly document information gathered during therapy sessions with child victims of sexual abuse in order to assist prosecution during the criminal justice process. Training participants will also learn how to both interface with the appropriate investigative agencies, law enforcement and Children's Division, and to testify in court regarding information from therapy sessions with child victims. This event is supported by the Office for Victims of Crime in coordination with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Approximately 30 mental health professionals are expected to attend.
