OVC is sponsoring one consultant to deliver a 3-hour workshop to be offered on two consecutive days as part of the Together We Can Conference taking place in Lafayette, Louisiana. The workshop, requested by conference co-sponsor Louisiana CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children) Association, and titled "Eat, Praise, Love: Resiliency Training for Victim Service Professionals," will focus on methods for managing stress and building resiliency in professionals who work with child victims of crime. In addition, a 1-hour plenary session will be delivered on October 23 to the entire conference audience. This event is supported by the Office for Victims of Crime in coordination with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. Approximately 200 CASA child advocacy center workers, judges, parents' attorneys, children's attorneys, social workers, indigent defenders, Office of Children's Services workers, education and mental health professionals are expected to attend.
