OVC is sponsoring two OVC consultants to each deliver a 4-hour workshop requested by the Utah Office for Victims of Crime in support of the Utah Victim Assistance Academy. The first workshop, "Cultural Competency and Diversity: Working with Immigrant Populations," will focus on strengthening cultural sensitivity when working with immigrant victims of sexual assault and domestic violence. The second workshop, "Providing Assistance in Indian Country," will enhance participants' capacity to successfully work with Native American victims in Utah. This event is supported by the Office for Victims of Crime in coordination with the Office on Violence Against Women. Approximately 50 program administrators, law enforcement, emergency service providers, prosecutors, tribal and faith-based service providers, volunteers, and victim advocates are expected to attend each workshop.
