National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Resource Guide 2013 (December 2012) OVC, 130 pages, NCJ 239229.
This guide is designed to help communities and victim assistance providers promote awareness of crime victim issues, the Guide includes educational content, campaign materials, artwork, and a theme DVD. New this year are three pre-produced 30-second PSAs addressing child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder financial fraud.

National Crime Victims' Rights Week (NCVRW) Theme DVD 2013 (December 2012) OVC, 0 pages, NCJ 240784.
Part of the NCVRW Resource Guide, this DVD includes a 5-minute feature video —New Challenges. New Solutions. —and three 30-second television public service announcements (PSAs) that address the topics of child sexual abuse, child sex trafficking, and elder abuse. OVC encourages organizations to use the introductory theme DVD throughout the year at public awareness, education, and training events in local communities to promote and advance the cause of justice for victims of crime.

Multidisciplinary Response to Crime Victims with Disabilities: State-Level Replication Guide (September 2012) OVC, Electronic Document, 1 pages, NCJ 239107.
This guide describes the Building Partnerships for the Protection of Persons with Disabilities Initiative (BPI), which uses a prosecution-based multidisciplinary team approach to address abuse committed against persons with disabilities. A community-level guide also is available.

FY 2013 Bridging the Gap in Victim-Related Research to Practice (PDF 452 kb)
Deadline: 06/10/2013
One cooperative agreement of $750,000 will be awarded to conduct a comprehensive assessment of victim service providers to ascertain their level of awareness and knowledge about the benefits of social science research and program evaluation for their work with victims of crime; paired with an assessment of researchers' interest in, and capacity for, translating their work for a practitioner audience. The results of this project will inform future plans to support improved communication and collaboration between researchers and practitioners. Those applying are urged to begin in advance of the June 10, 2013, deadline.

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD): Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
The central mission of the HUD Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives is to empower faith-based and other community organizations to apply for HUD grants. The center supplies information and training, but it does not make the decisions about which groups will be funded. Those decisions are made through procedures established by each grant program and generally involve a competitive process. No grant funding is set aside for faith-based organizations. Instead, the Faith-Based and Community Initiatives create a level playing field for faith-based and other community organizations so that they can work with the government to meet the needs of America's communities.
 
U.S. Department of Labor: Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives
The Center for Faith-Based and Community Initiatives (CFBCI) at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) seeks to empower faith-based and community organizations (FBCO) as these organizations help their neighbors enter, succeed, and thrive in the workforce. The center works to remove administrative and regulatory barriers and develop innovative programs to foster partnerships between DOL-funded programs and FBCOs. It educates organizations about local opportunities to collaborate with and participate in national grant programs. It also works with local government officials and administrators to integrate faith-based and community organizations into the strategic planning and service delivery processes of local Workforce Investment Boards.

Faith and Service Technical Education Network (FASTEN)
FASTEN offers informational resources and networking opportunities to faith-based practitioners, private philanthropies, and public administrators who seek to collaborate effectively to renew urban communities. An initiative of Pew Charitable Trusts, FASTEN identifies best practices and gathers and disseminates information concerning faith-based services and multisector collaboration. Resource topics include: Orientation to faith-based social services. Maintaining a positive relationship between your nonprofit and your church.
 
FaithTrust Institute
The Institute provides training and consultation to religious communities on issues of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
 
Institute for Peace and Justice (IPJ)
Founded by Dr. James McGinnis in 1970, IPJ serves as a peace studies program at St. Louis University. IPJ is an independent, interfaith, not-for-profit organization that creates resources, provides learning experiences, and advocates publicly for alternatives to violence and injustice at the individual, family, community, institutional, and global levels.
 
Sabbath of Domestic Peace
This organization is an interdisciplinary, interfaith coalition that encourages and supports the involvement of religious leaders and congregations in the greater Philadelphia area in their efforts to prevent and reduce domestic violence by raising awareness and providing educational and resource materials.
 
The CASE Partnership
The CASE Partnership, a unique collaboration of prosecutors and faith communities that provides elder fraud prevention, crime detection and reporting, and victim support, is expanding from the Denver area throughout the United States. Fraud Alerts and clergy training sessions are among the proactive efforts being undertaken as a result of this partnership.
