Gaining Insight Taking Action Basic Skills for Serving Victims DVD and Companion Guidebook

This 55-minute DVD comprises three videos and guidebooks: Listen to My Story: Communicating With Victims of Crime; Meeting the Needs of Underserved Victims; and Substance Abuse and Victimization. Drug-facilitated, Incapacitated, and Forcible Rape: A National Study

This report provides information addressing 4 key goals: 1) To identify how many women in the U.S. and in college settings have ever been raped or sexually assaulted during their lifetime and within the past year; 2) To identify key case characteristics of drug-facilitated and forcible rapes; 3) To examine factors that affect the willingness of women to report rape to law enforcement or seek help from their support network; and 4) To make comparisons between the different types of rape with regard to the numbers of women affected in the U.S. and college settings, risk factors, reporting to law enforcement, and mental health consequences.

Children at Clandestine Methamphetamine Labs: Helping Meth's Youngest Victims

This bulletin describes the health and safety risks faced by children who live at or visit clandestine methamphetamine labs. Measures are suggested to respond to children’s mental and physical health issues when law enforcement officers seize meth labs. The experiences of several states that use multidisciplinary teams are offered as examples of promising interventions and the importance of collaboration among federal, state, and local agencies to ensure the care and protection of these children is emphasized.
